Netscape 8.0 is a web browser developed by Netscape Communications Corporation, available for download in full install version for Windows platforms from legacy sources. Netscape 8.0 is developed using Firefox 1.0.3 code base, Unlike its predecessors versions 6.0 and 7.0 which were based on Mozilla Application suite. This edition is purely a web browser and not an application suite.

It would be interesting note this browser renders web pages using two layout engines namely Microsoft's Trident and Gecko for sites which are white-listed and blacklisted respectively. This edition has MultiBar toolbar, advanced tabbed browsing, auto fill forms, and secured password management.
